Our investment team

Gill Lakin

Chief Investment Officer

Gill Lakin has more than 30 years’ experience in investment. Prior to joining Brompton, Gill was chief investment officer at Thornhill Investment Management, where she managed the investment team, with responsibility for the investment process including asset allocation and fund selection. Earlier in her career, Gill was a senior fund manager and head of UK equity research at Société Générale Asset Management having worked previously at Prudential Portfolio Managers, where she ran two retail funds. A graduate of Somerville College, Oxford, she also holds an MSc from the London Business School.

Sean Standen

Fund manager

Sean has worked in financial services for more than 22 years and is a CFA charterholder. Prior to joining Brompton, he was an investment adviser within Barclays’ Global Banking & Investments Solutions division, having previously been a Barclays Wealth quantitative analyst. Sean began his career as a Credit Suisse risk analyst and developer. He has a BSc Hons degree in artificial intelligence and computer science from Edinburgh University.

David Hedderwick

HEAD OF FUND RESEARCH

David Hedderwick has more than 15 years’ experience in investment. Prior to joining Brompton, David was a senior director at Stanhope Capital, the private investment office, where he specialised in fund analysis across all asset classes as well as being portfolio manager for some of Stanhope’s largest clients. David began his investment career at Quilter, where he was an investment advisor. A zoology graduate of Durham University, he also holds an MSc in marketing from Strathclyde Business School.

Kevin Walker

Performance and risk analyst

Kevin Walker has more than ten years’ experience in financial services. Prior to joining Brompton, Kevin was a performance and risk analyst at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, where he also worked with its data management and client reporting teams. Kevin holds a BSc Hons degree from Edinburgh University.

Emily Lam

Assistant fund manager

Emily began her career in the asset management industry as a graduate trainee in the internal audit department of Janus Henderson Investors, where she was promoted after one year to be an internal audit associate. Emily is a graduate from Kingston University, where she obtained a first-class degree in business economics.
